We get quite a few questions on a regular basis, so we thought in hopes of clarifying some of your quandries, here it goes.....
Q - Where are you guys located?
A - YGBS bakes everything out of our dept. of agriculture certified kitchen aka our super awesome kitchen at home. We do not have a store... (yet).
Q - Are you ever anywhere else?
A - Yes. We try to sell at local events and at the Yanceyville St. Curb Farmers Market. We generally send out an email or list on the blog where and when we will be making a public appearance at an event!
Q - Are you nut-free?
A - We here at YGBS are not nut free. We use peanut butter and other nut products all the time. We would not encourage those with severe nut allergies to order from us. Although we always wash our pots, pans, and bowls religiously, we use the same ones over and over again, regardless of the flavor of cake.
Q - Do you deliver?
A - Of course! (Besides, we kind-of have to, since we don't have a store)
Q - Is this your full-time job?
A - Surprisingly no! But, YGBS keeps getting busier and busier. Katie and Kelly both work 8 - 5 at a commercial photography studio. This makes things a little tricky...We try our best to take as many orders as possible, but time only permits us to do so many a week....Please try us again if we were unable to fullfill a request.
Q - What forms of payment do you accept?
A - At this point in time, YGBS takes cash or check only for orders. You can make the check out to Yummy Goodness Bake shoppe.
Q - Do you do wedding cakes?
A - Yes, however we don't do the huge 3 and 4 and bigger tiered cakes, only SMALL two-tiered cakes. Due to our limited kitchen and oven space, we only do small cakes. Our wedding specialty is in CUPCAKE TOWERS with a small cutting cake, which is very popular right now. The days of waiting for your piece are over. Just walk on up to the cupcake tower and pick out your personal cake!
Q - Do you keep anything on hand that I can buy last minute?
A - Nope. We make every order specifically for you, and don't keep anything laying around. Besides we like to keep all of our products as fresh as possible and make them only when you order it.
Q - How soon should I put in my order?
A - We used to say that you could order two days in advance, but that is no longer the case...Right now, it is best to place your order a full TWO WEEKS in advance if not longer. We thank you for your patience in this matter, and we truly wish we could get to everyone...As stated earlier, if we don't get to you this time, please try us again.
Q - How far away do you deliver?
A - YGBS serves the triad, and that would include Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and the areas in between....We generally draw the limit at a 45 minute delivery drive.
Q - What is the best way to reach you?
A - The fastest way to get a response from us is email...(yummygoodnessbakeshoppe@yahoo.com) We check it ALL the TIME and will return your email faster than we can get to the phone. Plus, the spotty reception in our building makes talking on the phone nearly impossible (unless we stand on one leg, with our left arm in the air, and not move a muscle....haha)
Q - If I do call you, what time is best?
A - We are most likely to answer between the hours of 5-7 pm. If you call during the day, we will try our best to get back to you that day. If you wouldn't mind, please don't call us after 9pm....We need all the beauty rest we can get, to keep up with your orders...
Q - Do you do vegan cakes?
A - We have played around with some vegan recipes and have one or two at this point that we like. If you are interested in a vegan order, send us a word and we will see if we can accomodate your request. On the whole, however, we don't generally bake vegan.
Q - Where can I see your latest creations?
A - We love our website, however, the latest and greatest stuff, is generally on the blog that we frequently update. Since you are reading this, you have seen our blog! Good for you! Keep coming back to the blog for all the latest news. We also keep our facebook page updated frequently as well!
Thanks again for all of your understanding! Hopefully, we have answered most, if not all of your questions. If any questions do remain unanswered, send us an email!
